Phyllis Heppner has over forty years of successful piano teaching, giving her a rich background in the art of passing on music skills and enjoyment to the next generation. Over forty students from age 5 to 75 find themselves progressing rapidly under her experienced, personable guidance at her Brookswood studio in Langley, BC.
Ms. Heppner has studied classical piano with Darlene Brigidear, Joanne Sommer and Edward Parker and jazz piano with Amanda Tosoff. She was awarded her ARCT with First Class Honors with Distinction in both the written and practical examinations and received the Gordon Hallet Scholarship for having the highest aggregate mark on these exams. She also holds a Licentiate Degree in Recital Performance with the London College of Music and Media.
Other musical interests include adjudicating music festivals, conducting piano examinations, accompanying soloists and choirs, contributing to leadership in her church music department and playing keyboard in the local jazz band, QuintEssential.
