About

Karen Daggett has a passion for sharing her love of music and the arts with students of all ages. She successfully completed her A.R.C.T diploma with first class honours in 1989. In 1991, Karen was privileged to become a member of the BC Registered Music Teachers Association, and since, has been an active member. She began her career in 1989, and has taught students all throughout Vancouver, Richmond, Delta and Surrey. She has gained 27 years of experience teaching and offers young children and teens personally tailored lessons in her friendly studio . She actively assists in the Spring South Fraser Piano Festival. Recently, the Royal Conservatory Teacher Certification Program officially recognized Karen Daggett as an Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced Piano and Theory Specialist, which is reserved for the highest caliber of music instructors. In addition to teaching piano and theory lessons from her in-home studio, Karen has been a children’s choir accompanist for 10 years.
She is an inspirational, cheerful, and welcoming teacher, who encourages all her students to unlock their musical potential, participate in the South Fraser Music Festival, and prepare for Practical and Theoretical Royal Conservatory examinations. In preparing students to set festival and exam goals, she emphasizes excellence in performing at her informal in-studio recitals. She gladly offers private piano and theory lessons 6 days a week. Recitals are held twice a year in December and June, where students have the opportunity to showcase their accomplishments and be presented with awards.
